How to read this trail

Each column below is a bloodline. Each row inside it is a generation. Every tiger card shows parents (where known), status (historic / current 2026 / documented / disputed) and a confidence badge for the parental link. Companion reference page: the detailed Tadoba Tiger Family Tree & Bloodlines.

Evidence legend

● Documented ● Strongly reported ● Probable ● Unverified ● Unknown

Four confidence levels, same scale used on our main bloodlines reference. A viral caption never promotes a line from Probable to Documented. Disputed parentage is shown as disputed.

The Wagdoh–Madhuri trail

The dynasty that reshaped Tadoba. Wagdoh (T-33) sired an estimated 35–40 cubs. Four daughters became the famous Telia sisters of 2011; a fifth daughter, Jurni, became the bridge to the next generation.

The Chhoti Tara & Matkasur trail

Chhoti Tara (T-7) is one of Tadoba's most important matriarchs. Her son Chota Matka built the buffer-male dynasty of 2020-26, and her later son Mama is the current 2026 male most tourists hope to see.

Chota Matka × Jurni
Translocated to Sahyadri · Nov 2025
The strongest publicly documented modern Tadoba lineage record. Bridges Chhoti Tara–Matkasur and Wagdoh via Jurni.

Why the Chanda translocation matters

In November 2025 forest officials moved Chanda from the Khadsangi landscape of Tadoba to Sahyadri Tiger Reserve — more than 900 kilometres. Officials recorded Chota Matka as her father and Jurni as her mother, with Jurni identified as a daughter of Wagdoh. One of very few Tadoba parent-child chains with real paper trail behind it.

Current 2026
Raised by Bijli (Chhoti Tara's older daughter) alongside her own cub — hence the Mama/Bhanja names.
Alternative claim: One Facebook post names Mowgli as the father instead. Not sufficiently verified.

The Kuwani / Kolsa trail

Kuwani is remembered as the matriarch of the Kolsa landscape. Her son Yuvraj (T-164) is the male most consistently identified as Mama's father, linking the Kolsa and Moharli lines.

The Maya & Tala trail

Maya (T-12) — the Queen of Tadoba. One of the most photographed tigresses in India. Her 2020 litter with Tala produced Y-Mark (Sanju), the current-generation male fathering the next wave with W-Mark.

The Bajrang buffer dynasty

Bajrang (T-49) displaced Wagdoh from parts of his range and his descendants dominate present-day buffer stories around Agarzari, Junona, Keslaghat and Zari.

Methodology & editorial safeguards

Every parental link on this page is labelled Documented / Strongly reported / Probable / Unverified. We never upgrade a link from a single social-media caption. Disputed parentage is shown as disputed. We never publish den sites, kill sites, newborn cub locations or same-day tiger positions, however many messages we get asking for them.

Primary references we consult: the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve official site and reports, the Times of India coverage of the Wagdoh death (May 2022) and the Chanda / STR T4 translocation (November 2025), and our own MySafariWorld field-desk evidence log maintained by partnered local naturalists.
