Visiting Naturalists Programme · By Application

Working with photographers, naturalists & filmmakers who shape how wildlife is seen.

A limited familiarisation (FAM) programme for international wildlife photographers, resident naturalists, documentary producers and conservation storytellers who would like to visit Tadoba with MySafariWorld.

Why we run a FAM programme

Tadoba is a working forest. The quality of what the outside world sees of it depends on who the forest is seen through — guides who know the ground, naturalists who know the species, and image-makers whose work travels further than any brochure. We open a small number of our private trips each season to visiting professionals whose work meaningfully extends how Tadoba is understood internationally.

This is not a free safari programme. It is a working visit — you bring craft and reach; we bring the gate access, the naturalist pairing, the lodge, and the field knowledge of this landscape. The outcome we want is a visit that is memorable for you and useful for Tadoba's conservation story.

Who we're looking for

Wildlife photographers

With a shown body of work

A portfolio of published or widely-shared tiger / big-cat / Indian wildlife work. Not Instagram-size follower counts — real craft and real reach into premium audiences.

Resident naturalists

From international lodges & reserves

Working naturalists at African, South American, Southeast Asian or Himalayan properties who want first-hand knowledge of Tadoba to share with your own guests.

Filmmakers & producers

Documentary, short-form & broadcast

Pre-production scouts, directors, DPs and producers working on wildlife content for broadcast, OTT, or respected independent channels.

Conservation storytellers

Writers, editors, biologists

Journalists at wildlife or travel desks of reputable outlets, long-form conservation writers, or field biologists whose work is public-facing.

What a FAM visit includes

  • Private vehicle and seat allocation on every safari of the trip, no shared jeeps.
  • Pairing with one of our most experienced partnered naturalists for the duration.
  • Full-day photography permits where season and quota allow.
  • Stay in a lodge selected for proximity to the day's planned gates.
  • Ground logistics from Nagpur or Chandrapur, lodge to lodge, lodge to gate.
  • Honest briefings on gate conditions, bloodlines of the resident tigers, and field ethics.
What this programme is not

Not a free holiday. Not a guaranteed tiger sighting (nobody can guarantee that honestly). Not a product review arrangement in exchange for cash discounts. Not a route to the complimentary trips sold on social media against follower counts.

What we expect in return

Credited published work featuring MySafariWorld or Tadoba within an agreed window, honest field feedback on our ground operation, and permission for us to quote your work (with full credit) when speaking with future international guests.

Our naturalist collaboration with international lodges

Parallel to the FAM programme, MySafariWorld runs long-form collaborations with resident naturalists working at properties in other wildlife countries. We trade field knowledge, host each other's teams on short exchange visits, and refer serious guests to each other for the species or landscape each side knows best. If you lead the naturalist team at an international reserve or lodge and would like to open a conversation about an exchange, use the form below and mention your property in the proposal.

These collaborations are low-volume by design — one or two new partner lodges a year — because we only commit to relationships we can honour on both sides for several seasons.

How we decide

Applications are read by our Chandrapur field desk, usually within 10 business days. We prioritise visits where there is a clear fit between the applicant's craft, the season being requested, and permit availability. We say no more often than we say yes — not because we're being precious, but because the forest's permit calendar is finite and we would rather do a small number of FAM visits well than a crowded calendar of mediocre ones.

If your application is a fit, we respond with a specific window, the proposed landscape and gates, our ask on deliverables, and a mutual non-disclosure for anything commercially sensitive we share on the ground.

Apply to visit

All fields with a short red mark are required. We read every application personally.
