Packages

Fixed prices.
And the arithmetic behind them.

Booking sites quote one number and leave you to guess what's inside it. Every package below is split three ways — what the lodge charges, what the safari itself costs, and what we charge to put it together and run it. If you only want a safari booked and nothing else, that's a flat ₹1,000 per jeep and you can skip the packages entirely.

How to read these

Three numbers, not one

Each package carries a bar showing where your money actually goes. Most of it never touches us — it goes to the lodge you sleep in and to the Maharashtra forest department for your permits, jeep and guide. Those we pass through at the rate we're charged. Our own booking charge is the small band on the right.

Three ways to travel

Shared seat, private jeep, or built around a camera

These are genuinely different products, not the same trip at three lengths. What changes is who else is in your vehicle and who decides where it goes.

Shared

Fixed departures, four to a jeep

Set dates, a seat rather than a vehicle, road transport from Nagpur included. The straightforward way to do Tadoba if you're coming from an Indian city and don't want to organise anything.

2 nights · 4 safaris · ex-Nagpur

Short Break

A long weekend that still gets you four proper drives. Four guests per jeep, so everyone has a clear side.

Private

Your own jeep, your own dates

Nobody else in the vehicle, and you choose the gate rather than taking what's allocated. This is where our gate knowledge is actually worth paying for — and it costs more because a jeep booked for two costs the same as a jeep booked for six.

3 nights · 4 safaris · private jeep

Private Classic

Your dates, your gates, your vehicle. Priced for two sharing — the per-head figure falls sharply as you add people.

Why shared costs so much less than private. A jeep costs the same whether one person sits in it or six. On a shared departure you pay a quarter of it; on a private booking you pay all of it and get the gate you chose. Neither is better value — they're different products. Forest department and lodge rates move with the zone, the day and the season, so we confirm real figures for your dates before you pay anything.
Ways to pay less

Three real discounts, and why they exist

We don't invent a higher price so we can cross it out. These reductions exist because the trip genuinely costs us less to run — so we pass the difference on.

Save ₹2,000

Book 60+ days ahead

Permits released in the advance quota cost less and are far easier to secure than the three-day tatkal window. Booking early costs us less work and less risk, so you keep the difference.

Per person · advance quota
Save ₹1,500

Travel Monday to Thursday

Forest department rates are lower on weekdays, lodges are quieter and cheaper, and there are fewer vehicles at the gate. Better trip, lower cost — the rare case where both move the same way.

Per person · weekday departure
Save up to ₹4,000

Fill the jeep

A jeep costs the same whether two people sit in it or six. Come as four, five or six and the vehicle cost splits further — the biggest single saving on a private booking.

Per person · 4+ travelling
Two of these can be combined, not all three. Below a certain point a booking costs us more to run than it earns, and we'd rather say so plainly than quietly cut a corner on your lodge or your gate. If your dates are flexible, ask which combination works — sometimes shifting by two days saves more than any discount here.
Before you ask

What's in, and what isn't

Included

  • Accommodation for the nights listed, with breakfast and dinner inside the rate
  • Safari permits, jeep and forest guide for every drive listed, at government rate
  • Gate selection and booking — we pick the gate with you and book that one
  • Permit availability checked before we ask you for money
  • A person on the phone before, during and after the trip

Not included

  • Getting to Chandrapur — flights, trains and long-distance transfers
  • Lunch, unless the lodge rate happens to include it
  • Camera fees where a reserve charges them separately
  • Tips for drivers, guides and lodge staff
  • Travel insurance — strongly recommended, especially from abroad
  • Anything we haven't listed. If it isn't written down, assume it isn't in
The Classic, day by day

What three nights actually looks like

Times shift with the season — gates open earlier in summer and later in winter. This is the shape, not a timetable.

Day 1

Arrive, settle, evening drive

Reach Chandrapur and transfer to your lodge. Check in, eat, then out on the afternoon drive — the gate depends on what we've secured for your dates. Dinner back at the lodge.

Day 2

Morning and afternoon drives

Early start — the gate opens around first light and the first hour is usually the best of the day. Back for breakfast and rest through the heat, then out again in the afternoon, often at a different gate.

Day 3

Fourth drive, then the day is yours

One more morning drive. Afterwards there's time for the reserve's edges — birding stretches, the villages, or simply not moving. We'll tell you honestly if a fifth drive is worth adding.

Day 4

Checkout and onward

Breakfast, then transfer for your onward journey. If you're continuing to Pench or Nagpur we'll have arranged it already.

One thing no package can promise. Tigers are wild animals on their own schedule. Four drives gives you good odds and a real chance at other things — leopard, sloth bear, wild dog, and birding most people drive straight past. Anyone guaranteeing you a tiger sighting is selling you something they don't control.
Next step

Send us your dates

Tell us when you're coming and how many of you there are. We'll come back with what's actually available at which gate, itemised the same way as above.
