A Moharli-cluster gate distinguished by broader meadow openings between the teak — long sight lines, grazing herbivores at the edges, and the mid-frame breathing room photographers rarely find in wooded buffer.
Agarzari sits within the same Moharli buffer complex as Junona and Devada, but its terrain does something the others don't — the teak breaks into meadow openings that extend sight distance two to three times over. When a tiger crosses one of these clearings, you see it earlier and hold it longer. For anyone shooting seriously, that difference is the whole trip.
The gate is roughly 45 km from Chandrapur, around 155 km from Nagpur, and opens up on a mix of highway and last-mile forest road. Early morning drives are Agarzari's specialty: the meadow grasses catch first light while animals are still moving from night positions to shaded rests, and the visibility windows are the widest on the Moharli side of the reserve.

Sambar, chital and gaur graze the meadow edges morning and evening. Predator movement here follows prey movement, and both are far more visible than in dense buffer.
Agarzari is less-Instagrammed than Junona and Moharli core. Fewer gypsies per safari slot means more time held at sightings and cleaner unbroken tracking of movement.

Sighting probability is a function of heat and water. As Chandrapur dries out, tigers concentrate at fewer waterholes, and the buffer's smaller water sources make sightings around them more reliable than in the rain-fed core.

Morning safari. Pickup from your Chandrapur or Moharli-area stay 45 minutes before gate opening. Agarzari gate opens with sunrise — around 6:00 AM in winter, closer to 5:30 in summer. The drive lasts approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, returning by 9:30–10:00 AM to a full hot breakfast at your stay.
Evening safari. Pickup around 2:30 PM for a 3:00 PM gate entry. You'll drive until closing — approximately 6:00 PM in winter, 6:30 in summer. Dinner is served at your stay after return.
What to bring. Layered clothing (cold mornings, hot afternoons — even in summer, gypsy wind chills a pre-sunrise start). Full-length sleeves and trousers in muted colours. A wide-brim hat, sunscreen, binoculars, camera with your longest lens, and plenty of water. Agarzari guides carry basic first aid; your stay will pack a light breakfast box on request for morning drives.
